Walkway Garden

The owners had remodelled their small cottage and their new kitchen now completely opened out into the garden with sliding folding doors. To maximise their living/entertaining space a deck area was built, at the same level as the kitchen, to allow the dining table and chairs to be simply moved across thus providing the option of al fresco dining. A plum tree is planted in front of the neighbouring wall to provide spring blossom and fresh fruit to pick straight from the tree. The unattractive brick wall is clothed with evergreen scented climbers.

Additional storage was also required and a large shed was essential to the new garden design. A decked walkway now leads from the house to a large shed, made more pleasing with a shaded veranda and painted in a pale colour. Beside the shed we created an area enclosed in a small pergola, for catching the afternoon sun.

A river of lavender crosses the garden and emphasises the preferred blue and white flowered colour scheme.
