A ‘scraggy’ lawned space was transformed into a stylish and modern garden, perfect for year round entertaining.

A large sandstone terrace, leading out from the property, and an elegant circular sun deck positioned in the diagonal corner (capturing the early evening sun) provided generous and versatile seating areas.

The newly created raised beds were filled with bold drifts of carefully chosen colourful perennials and grasses to provide a long flowering season.

Vertical flower spikes or foliage were chosen to contrast and highlight the unusual horizontal lines of the ‘designer trellis’ feature.

Movement and sound was provided by a planting of tall bamboo along one side of the garden.

Spotlighting was used to widen the entertaining possibilities to include night-time but also for its dramatic effect in emphasising light and shadow.
